Raze

The Best Accountability App Options for Quitting Porn

Raze is our app. Checked 2026-10-28.

Written by Muneeb Rana · Store facts checked 28 October 2026 · Raze is our app

Quick answer: An accountability app shares information about your phone or computer use with a partner you choose, or helps you check in with one. Covenant Eyes, Ever Accountable and Accountable2You send activity reports; Relay uses groups; Raze keeps a private record you share yourself. Prices run from free to about $18 a month.

How we chose

Each accountability app here was judged on four things: what your partner actually receives, which devices are covered, whether it blocks content too, and cost. Pricing comes from each company's pricing page on 28 October 2026, except Relay and Raze, which come from the App Store on 24 October 2026. Raze is our app.

The biggest difference is what your partner sees. Screenshots give the fullest picture but feel the most intrusive; activity lists are lighter; self-report relies on your honesty.

The apps in detail

Covenant Eyes is the best-known option, especially in churches; it says it's endorsed by the American Association of Christian Counselors. One plan covers unlimited devices for up to 10 family users, with a 7-day trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee. It doesn't support Chromebook, Kindle or Linux (Covenant Eyes). See Raze vs Covenant Eyes.

Ever Accountable reports activity and alerts your partner about flagged content or uninstall attempts. Nothing is blocked unless you turn on its optional filter. One subscription covers all your devices, and it offers refunds for up to 90 days (Ever Accountable).

Accountable2You reports browsing (including private mode) and app use, with custom trigger words. It deliberately doesn't take screenshots, so partners aren't shown explicit images. A Family plan at $16 a month adds child profiles (Accountable2You).

Relay puts you in a small group that checks in together, which suits people who'd rather talk than be monitored (App Store). See Raze vs Relay.

Raze counts clean days, logs slips and runs community challenges. Nothing is reported automatically; you decide what to tell your partner.

Which one suits you

  • You want an outside check on every device: Covenant Eyes or Ever Accountable.
  • Your partner shouldn't see images: Accountable2You.
  • You're a family with teens: Covenant Eyes or Accountable2You Family. Talk openly with teens about it rather than installing secretly.
  • You'd rather have people than reports: Relay or an accountability partner.
  • You want a private, low-cost tracker: Raze, alongside a free porn blocker app or Screen Time.

A Christian accountability app is mostly a matter of community and tone; the monitoring itself works the same way. See Christian quit porn apps for faith-based options.

Questions to agree with your partner first

  1. Will they get every report, or only alerts?
  2. How quickly will they look at them?
  3. What happens when something is flagged: a call, a message, a meeting?
  4. Who else, if anyone, can see the reports?
  5. When will you review whether the setup is helping?

Monitoring without a conversation tends to create resentment. The app is a prompt; the relationship does the work.

Privacy trade-offs

Report-based apps see a lot of your activity. Check where the data is stored and who can read it before you install. Ever Accountable says it holds ISO certifications for information security and privacy; Accountable2You lets you exclude sensitive apps such as banking from reports on some platforms. If shared reports feel like too much, a self-report approach with a private tracker is a reasonable choice.
